Reliquary Perfume believes fragrance should haunt you in the best possible way. We believe in scent as memory. in stories carried on the skin, in Southern Gothic beauty, slow craftsmanship & perfumes that feel like keepsakes instead of commodities. That is why we formulate without phthalates, parabens, acute & organ toxins, or ingredients on the California Prop. 65 list. Every formula is created with intention using vegan & cruelty free ingredients, because what we leave out matters just as much as what we choose to include.
I do not teach workshops currently, but with our new space I look forward to joining forces with other makers for in store, small workshops. If you think you are a good fit to teach a workshop, shoot us an email and we can chat.
All of my perfumes are made with a mix of fragrance oils and essential oils. But aren't fragrance oils bad? Well, I used to think that too, but after much research. I found that I could find products that are highly regulated and meet my standards. I also discovered that some oils contain animals and by using fragrance oils, a synthetic dupe is created and no harm is done to our precious creatures. Some essential oils can be very irritating, that is why fragrance oils were first created, to get the smell people desire, but keep the irritants down. Some people are very sensitive to fragrance oils, but in that case, you should probably be careful with essential oils too! I love using a mix of botanical oils alongside fragrance oils to really explore unique scent profiles!
Perfume oils are different from essential oils as they are cut down to skin safety standards with a carrier oil whereas most essential oils are not. They are a combination of perfumery ingredients that include essential oils and various other natural sources and aroma synthetics to create a well-rounded and full-bodied scent. Essential oils are typically a one note compound that derives solely from distillation, giving it the signature component to the scent that most essential oils have. We love to use both to have a unique scent experience.
Yes! And I encourage you to try a sample set before you invest in a full size bottle to make sure you are in love!
Please do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children and animals. If you are pregnant, it’s generally not a good idea to use essential oils. Additionally, essential/fragrance oils are very potent and can cause allergies or rashes. Always test fragrance on a small patch of skin to make sure that it does not irritate you. Ingredients are listed in each product listing, if you have a known allergy to one of the ingredients, please do not purchase or use on skin.
